Rosso delle Venezie IGT

A special blend made ​​from two great international varieties and a historic Italian grape variety, Sangiovese.

Grape varieties: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese.
Vineyard area: The grapes were grown in the estate’s own vineyards, Monte Tenda, Monte Crosetta and Rasso, all of which are located in the hills of the village of Fumane. The average density of these vineyards is between 3000 and 5000 vines/ha and are both guyot as well as classic pergola trained. The vines are planted on poor soils with a high rock content. Since 2011 the vineyards have been in organic conversion.
Yield: 55 hl/ha
Training system: Guyot, double pergola, single pergola.
Harvest Date: The grapes were hand harvested from mid-September until the second half of October.
Vinification: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese were all harvested at the same time and fermented together in temperature controlled stainless steel. The main extraction method during vinification was regular remontage and delestage. The total time of skin maceration for this wine was 11 days.
Elevage: After the alcoholic fermentation the wine was kept in stainless steel where it underwent malolactic fermentation. As soon as this was completed the wine was racked into small oak barrels of second and third passage, where it remained for 12 months. After the elevage in barrique the wine was transferred back in stainless steel for another additional 6 months.
Alcohol content: 13,5%
Total acidity: 5,8 g/l
Sugars: 3,2 g/l
Medium concentrated violet ruby. Savoury and minerally nose with concentrated dark, sweet fruit. Vibrant and succulent red and dark palate. Very long finish. Still very young, and will improve with extended bottle age.
